Jean is a best-selling author and popular speaker on children’s issues. She co-authored the recent Education Endowment Foundation/ Early Intervention Foundation guidance report Improving social and emotional learning in primary schools. 

She led the national SEAL initiative in England between 2003 and 2005 in her role as Senior Director for the National Strategies and was formerly government’s Communication Champion for children and young people.

 She was awarded a CBE for services to education in 2011.

Julie is a Senior Specialist Educational Psychologist practising in Wales, having worked in the field of Emotional Health and Wellbeing for thirty years. A former teacher (Julie won the national award, ‘Teacher of the Year’ in 1995) Julie has worked with schools, Local Authorities, the BBC and Government Departments both in England and abroad and has written many books and publications for teachers, parents, UNICEF, Save the Children and the DfE, making a key contribution to the national SEAL materials. She is an Associated Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
